I had an interesting thought at work today for a Marik/Melvin headcanon.

Naturally it takes place in an AU post canon to the real thing or even YGOTAS.
In a time where Marik/Melvin has returned to the land of the living/has his own body. (Though I might use this in a fic I want to update…)

But imaging Marik playing with something that requires batteries. Like an old gameboy color or something and just enjoying himself. He goes to show someone something on the screen but when the device leaves his hands it just dies.
The other person tries to calm him down by saying it just needs new batteries and to relax, they’ll fix it and he can have fun going though the game again.
But when they go to change the batteries they discover the compartment is empty. But it was clearly on before, they saw it with their own eyes. That’s weird as all get out but when they ask Marik/Melvin what happened he just takes it back to examine it himself a it turns on again but at the start up screen of course.

Turns out Marik/Melvin has the odd ability to mess with electronics like a poltergeist/ghost or whatever.

I don’t know. I liked the dumb idea. What do you guys think?

There is potential.
But considering we all know Bakura can only really plan ahead once in his life, and it was by putting his soul into a Puzzle piece and waiting like 100 episodes before even he seemed to actually recall that he did that….
I think it’s more likely someone wanted to talk to Ryou and he was mentally Well, fuck. Um… What would Ryou do in this situation? And just hands some minor friend of Ryou’s the spare key to shut them up but doesn’t say much else. Walks away like he does when Miho tried to talk to him in Season Zero.

The bank account thing just another company wanting him to switch so Bakura agreed or rather took it all out after finding out what it was because trusting anyone else with your money is dumb. He is sure of this. He doesn’t know how banks work and that just why would Ryou let anyone do that in the first place?

The passwords changed because the fool doesn’t really know Ryou’s passwords or at least they never mattered before so he just changed them because Ryou hasn’t really been using anything and this is something he himself would remember. Not like he’s gonna die anytime soon and leave his host high and dry…

Then he died.
