reading that last post, it sounds like I’m mad, but I just think this is ridiculous

the point of a shipping list is to make it easy to find certain ships, and this is just making the list confusing and weird

if I search Gemshipping (Thief King Bakura x Ryou Bakura) I am looking for a completely different ship from Tendershipping (Yami no Bakura x Ryou Bakura). I get that a lot of people have different headcanons and fan theories about them, since Takahashi wasn’t super clear in a lot of aspects, but… they’re not the same character. At all. I’m looking for a completely different pairing in each of those shippings.

EDIT: Merging them “officially” into the same shipping name is only going to make my life, and I’m sure a lot of other peoples’ lives, more difficult when trying to find fanfiction. Seeing Tendershipping as a tag, I’m going to go into this fic with a wildly different idea of who’s being shipped and what the setting is more likely to be if I then click on it, and nope, it’s not Tendershipping, it’s actually Gemshipping under a different name for a different pairing.

Yeah. These newer people are also just changing old ship names and I refuse to join in because nah.. .I am not relearning all that when there are literally over 100 characters with names in canon. True most are not main character but I did once have a list because I was writing a fic I planned to have EVERYONE in.

That aside- I hate it and they are trying to change the name of my fav ship to trashshipping. As in they view my OTP of all OTPs as worthless garbage. Fuck them.
They also tried just renaming certain ships because other spin off series want the name and they were all “No one ships this anyway so yeah- take it.”
WRONG AGAIN! I shipped it and still do so no, Dangershipping will not be for Zexal’s Kotori x Ryoga since it was already taken by Seto x Marik.

And ‘condensing’ character ships when NONE of the characters are the same person as you pointed out is just going to make it worse.

I wanted to say Yugi was wearing it before but I pulled out my manga and the leather collar DOES only show up after the Puzzle is solved- but also only when Yami takes over.
So… Clearly it is Yugi’s and he wore it on occasion for it to be there in the first place but Yami put it on to protect his vessle and soon to be best friend.

Seein lots of tags and comments on this post to the tune of “that can’t possibly be right” or “wait I thought he was 18 during Battle City” or “I’m glad the anime aged him up then,” so friendly reminder that Seto Kaiba is an underage kid at every single point in the main DM storyline, in every single continuity (except the 4Kids dub, but even then it’s not clear if they actually meant to age him up or if they just added a throwaway line without thinking about the math)

He just really wants to be perceived as an adult, and if you bought it then he has successfully Bamboozled you

Friendly reminder that he was classmates with Yuugi in the manga and anime, so it’s kinda implied they’re around the same age.

Okay but if there is ever a time for a ‘they are all good friends’ kind of fanon AU story then please… please have them at a lunchroom table and realize that they are all basically a few months older than Seto and suddenly all start calling him the baby of the group. Because this is what friends do.

An interesting thing I took note of:

In the Japanese version of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, when we learn about Anzu wanting to be a dancer and working a part-time job at a fast food place so that she can save up money, she freaks out when Yuugi and Jounouchi find out at first because their school forbids it’s students from having part-time jobs (which is a thing in Japan) and so she’s worried that they might tell someone from school and get her expelled.

But in the 4Kids dub, since American school staff aren’t weirdly involved with their student’s lives outside of school (like they are in Japan and let me tell you, I could talk about that for a while), they changed it to Tea thinking “You have to be at least 18 to work here!” so in this case, she was worried that they’d tell her job management and get her fired.

But that leaves us with the greatest story never told: In order to get hired for that job in the first place, Tea would have needed a fake ID.

I brought this up with my mom and she said: “Well, which of her friends is good with computers? They could’ve helped her.” And we were both quiet for a minute before my mom said “Oh. That must have been an interesting conversation.” And I was like “wat?”

And my mom just looked at me and said “When Tea talked Kaiba into make her a fake ID.”

The thing is for this not the ‘secret friends’ everyone else is talking about in the comments but rather that Seto is a clever boy at the time and trained to use anyone to fit a means end so in the case of a fake ID I think he would have no problem doing that for a girl but there is a catch as there is always a catch.

Anzu is going to owe him a favor later and seeing that Seto has everything he could want and he isn’t sexual (because face it Anzu would ask as she’s leery of the guys she meets for good reason given all the sexual harrassment she gets in the series and would be relieved to know that favor isn’t sex) she would agree.
And just like that it would be super easy to get her to work for him in Death Tower T to add salt in the wound for Yugi and company. (He just has to leave out that she is aiding in their death. After all it’s just a harmless game Anzu~)
