In the Japanese version of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, when we learn about Anzu wanting to be a dancer and working a part-time job at a fast food place so that she can save up money, she freaks out when Yuugi and Jounouchi find out at first because their school forbids it’s students from having part-time jobs (which is a thing in Japan) and so she’s worried that they might tell someone from school and get her expelled.
But in the 4Kids dub, since American school staff aren’t weirdly involved with their student’s lives outside of school (like they are in Japan and let me tell you, I could talk about that for a while), they changed it to Tea thinking “You have to be at least 18 to work here!” so in this case, she was worried that they’d tell her job management and get her fired.
But that leaves us with the greatest story never told: In order to get hired for that job in the first place, Tea would have needed a fake ID.
I brought this up with my mom and she said: “Well, which of her friends is good with computers? They could’ve helped her.” And we were both quiet for a minute before my mom said “Oh. That must have been an interesting conversation.” And I was like “wat?”
And my mom just looked at me and said “When Tea talked Kaiba into make her a fake ID.”
The thing is for this not the ‘secret friends’ everyone else is talking about in the comments but rather that Seto is a clever boy at the time and trained to use anyone to fit a means end so in the case of a fake ID I think he would have no problem doing that for a girl but there is a catch as there is always a catch.
Anzu is going to owe him a favor later and seeing that Seto has everything he could want and he isn’t sexual (because face it Anzu would ask as she’s leery of the guys she meets for good reason given all the sexual harrassment she gets in the series and would be relieved to know that favor isn’t sex) she would agree. And just like that it would be super easy to get her to work for him in Death Tower T to add salt in the wound for Yugi and company. (He just has to leave out that she is aiding in their death. After all it’s just a harmless game Anzu~)
YES. THIS. This is precious in so many ways and I love it- but that also means their parents are all there in the audience. (So I am guessing. I know it says chibi but my mind is just like LOOK AT THESE LIL BABIES!)
I imagine Tristan’s folks are watching with ugly tears running down their faces proud of their lil boy and going to tell him so, thinking of him as a star even though he is just playing the role of a tree. This starts his love for costumes and beautification.
Anzu’s folks are quietly watching. They are equally proud of their tiny princess playing the role she was meant to be but also trying to pay everyone an equal share of their attention.
The Mutou boys are facing the dragon. Their mom sitting next to her father in the crowd. Solomon is doing his best to comfort his daughter who seems stuck thinking about her late husband and how he is missing out on this beautiful moment in their lives. Solomon is just trying to be certain she won’t miss out on it either and let her grief consume her like his once had when he lost his wife years prier.
Seto’s own folks are still alive. They are in the middle of the crowd and holding hands. The wife holding onto news to tell Seto he’s going to be a big brother soon after they both tell him what a fierce and mighty dragon he was.
Joey’s parents are in the back. His dad was late and has hints of booze on his breath. This is just the start of his drinking problem. Joey’s mom is also pregnant but further along. They don’t know how they are going to support their family but she has hope unlike the dad. After the play she will tell Joey he shouldn’t whack others with things and miss that the magician had ‘brought him to life’ to fight the dragon.

I’m sorry. I just have so many feels for this piece.
