I guess we could all use a hug sometimes. (Like now, maybe.)

Still hammering on art for the next major comic update, so here’s another otherworldly breakfast with Rocky and Mordecai for the interim (stemming from a reader question).

Welp. That’s enormous. Sorry.
Happy holiday reruns! I’m up to my eyeballs in Volume 3 comic pages right now, and didn’t feel I should set that aside for new holiday art this year. These had recently been reformatted for mobile viewing for Webtoons, though, so I thought I’d share here too.

“Have you noticed your art style changing of late? A lot of your recent sketches and pictures seem to make the eyes on a lot of characters (Rocky, Ivy, Freckle, Mordecai etc.) way bigger, at least proportionally. Mordecai’s also been getting more angular and almost dog-like.”Dog-like? I’m not seeing that…but I’m probably least qualified to judge.
I don’t think I’ve made any dramatic character design changes lately – no more than I usually do, I mean. Given really early art and the most recent art, the difference is obvious, but a chronology shows smaller, incremental changes (to my eye, anyway). It’s just kind of the natural result of drawing something a lot over a long period of time.
A mini-mini comic I shared with Patrons last year. It started with a singular reward drawing of Rocky dressed in pancakes, but grew into this thing somehow.
