I believe you said I could ask questions about your work and if I still may- Do you really have specialized blenders for the bones after cremations? What is the messiest part of the job in general? Do you get to listen to music when you work? Do you ever get work that just seems off for some reason? Like something about the corpse seems strange? Hair and fingernails don’t really grow after death, right? It’s just the skin pulling away isn’t it?

1. Yes, I call it the blender from hell, but there’s an actual name for it. I am blanking on the name right now. It looks more like a bucket that was sunk into a table, and it’s got these dull blades in the bottom. Most of the bone is already in pieces, so it’s not super weird or anything. Looks like pumice tbh

2. Used tissues in the chapel. Purge. Skin Slip. Vacuuming. There’s a lot.

3. I am not really an embalmer, I prefer working with people. And it depends.

4. All cases look different, and I think the weirdest thing I ever encountered was seeing a bone doner for the first time. I just kinda stared at his legs for a bit, trying to figure out what I was looking at.

5. Nothing grows after death other than fungus (lol). It’s the skin dehydrating and pulling away, you are correct.

Thank you!!
