So I’m watching Yugioh again again again etc. (subbed) because I love it and right now I’m at the end of the battle city arc with Malik or Melvin as we all know him and its during Malik’s game with Mai. Jounouchi and the others only have a vague idea of what a shadow game is so Joey rushes up to Yugi and asks what the hell Malik is talking about.

I don’t think it scares him at all but rather served as a reminder of all the games he pulled years ago and makes him ashamed he genuinely used to enjoy them and was as cruel and excited as Marik would get.
