Those are clearly the clothes his mom and grandpa want him to wear.

Mother Mutou: Son, please. Please at least try it on. Look! It  even has little studs on the front of it. You like those, right? 

I am more curious as to why no one at all is talking about that painting on his wall. Like, one would expect to see some kind of gaming poster there.
Is Yugi secretly a fan of art? Does it somehow inspire him? These are the real questions!
