Why is bags under his eyes Ryou accepted as canon?

It is purely fanon. I mean, do not get me wrong, I LOVE the headcanon and idea of it but it is strange to me even so.

I guess one could blame his wonky sleep schedule- in which case blame the spirit of the Ring, but yeah.
