so just to recap, malik’s birthday marks

• his mother’s death
• him receiving the scars as per tombkeeper ritual, severely destroying his mental health
• him/his other personality killing his father

This would give reason for him not to want to celebrate it.
I however think Marik on the other hand is thrilled for two of those three things.
